Andrew Callaghan

Andrew Callaghan has a varied and award-winning practice as a musician, composer, and producer. He has scored productions for SBS and ABC and participated in many other projects for film, TV, and advertising that have been acclaimed nationally and internationally. Additionally, he has produced, remixed, and written music and sound for theatre, podcasts, and exhibitions for the National Gallery of Victoria.

As well as winning recognition in its own right, Andrew's music and sound design have appeared in a number of highly successful projects, including the short film Jerrycan (Cannes Jury Prize), the SBS documentary Paper Dolls (Hugo Awards Special Mention), and the multiple award-winning short film Marco Solo. Television commercials he has worked on have received multiple production awards and have often been listed for attention relating specifically to music and sound.

Andrew is a lecturer in Composition for Creative Industries at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He is writing a book based on his PhD thesis that explored music’s role in contemporary Hollywood Docudramas.
